ANNOUNCEMENT: 6th Steinway Youth Piano Competition – Grand Finals Results

GRAND FINALS RESULTS

We have had the joy of sharing music with our young pianists’ ages 5 to 17 years old. Now, after weeks of intense piano playing and joyous music-making, Steinway Boutique Manila is proud to announce the winners of the 6th Steinway Youth Piano Competition.

GRAND PRIZE WINNER

Grand prize winner, Ella Gabrielle Gaw, a 10-year-old who won first prize in the Advanced Class and Excellence Performance Award of the competition will represent the Philippines in the Regional Finals of the competition scheduled to be held this year. She will be joining seven other finalists from Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, who will compete to represent these Asian nations in the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg, Germany. The winner of the Regional Finals will have the honor of representing Southeast Asia as a performer at the International Steinway Festival 2023 in Hamburg.

ADVANCED CLASS

The First prize winners will take home a cash prize of PHP 20,000.00 Cash Prize, a Trophy & Certificate of Recognition for all Categories (Cat 1, 2, and 3).

From these 3 first prize winners, one will emerge as the Grand prize winner where he/she will proceed to The Regional Finals, where he or she will compete with the candidates from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Korea, for the honor of representing these Asian nations as a performer at the International Steinway Festival 2023 in Hamburg, Germany.

INTERMEDIATE CLASS

For those of us who are new to the Steinway Youth Piano Competition, this is the first time in the Philippines that an Intermediate class is introduced to the competition. The Intermediate Class is for students who enjoy playing the piano for leisure but wish to have formal recognition of their progress in their musical journey.

For each category of the Intermediate class, The First prize winners will take home a cash prize of 10,000 PHP, a Trophy, and a Certificate of Recognition, while The Second Prize and The Third Prize will receive a Trophy and Certificate of Recognition.
