- Category 1 – Ages 11 and below (i.e. born on or after January 1, 2014)
- Category 2 – Ages 12 to 14 (i.e. born between and inclusive of January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013)
- Category 3 – Ages 15 to 17 (i.e. born between and inclusive of July 31, 2008 and December 31, 2010)

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS
- Participants must present 3 contrasting selections totaling a maximum playing time of 20 minutes.
- Repertoire must include the first movement of a Sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Clementi or Schubert.
- Choice pieces must be clearly indicated on the application form.
- All pertinent program details (Composer, Work, Key, Op., No., Hob., K.designations) for each movement of the work intended for performance must be listed.
- No concerti or transcriptions are allowed.
- Original compositions and improvisations are not permitted.
- Contestants must perform from memory.
- Jury has the right to request for the photocopies of all the scores from the contestants.
- Contestants are required to perform the exact same repertoire for further stages of the competition as indicated in the filled out Application Form. Changing of the repertoire is not allowed once the form is submitted.
- The repertoire must be submitted within 30th November 2024 – 31st March 2025 via the SYPC Application form.
VIDEO AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
- The video duration must not exceed 20 minutes.
- The contestant is required to perform the entire repertoire submitted in the application form.
- Contestants must perform their repertoire in one continuous take without pauses or edits. Cuts or alterations are not permitted.
- Only the contestant should appear in the video.
- The camera must remain static, and the view can be either landscape or portrait.
- The contestant’s side profile, as well as the entire piano and pedals, must be visible throughout the performance. See Example of the video recording position here.
- The recording should be of sufficient quality to assess all aspects of the performance, including tone, sound quality, and dynamic range.
- The video must be submitted as a single file/link from 30th November 2024 to 31st March 2025. Once submitted, no re-submission with a new recording is allowed.
- The video submitted must be exclusively for this competition and cannot have been used in any other events.
- The SYPC organizing committee reserves the rights to all recordings and related videography. No royalties will be paid to contestants.

RULES & REGULATIONS
- The Advanced class is only opened to all Filipino Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 17 and below.* Filipino citizens and permanent residents must be residing in the Philippines throughout the duration of the competition.
- Previous winners of Steinway Youth Piano Competition are not eligible to participate in the same age category in previous participation.
- The Grand Prize Winner must be able to participate the Southeast Asia Regional Finals in Bangkok from 1st – 3rd August 2025 and potentially the International Steinway Festival in Hamburg on 7th September 2025, or travel to any location as required by Steinway & Sons for activities related to the 7th Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2025.
- Contestants are expected to uphold the spirit of fair competition at all times. Failure to do so may impact their evaluation in the competition.
- Contestants are strictly prohibited from receiving any form of guidance, including private lessons or masterclasses, from jury members until the competition concludes.
- Contestants must disclose any past or current relationship with jury members. Failure to declare this may lead to disqualification if such a relationship is discovered.
- Contestants who are unable to perform at the scheduled time will forfeit their right to participate in that round and will not be recognized as a participant for that round.
- Evaluations for each round of the competition made by the Jury are final and non-disputable.
- The Grand Prize Winner must be available on all required dates. Failure to participate on designated dates will result in forfeiture of prizes without compensation.
- Contestants found in violation of the Competition Rules & Regulations, including but not limited to recording manipulation, intent to gain unfair advantage, or failure to disclose conflicts of interest, may face sanctions or disqualification.
- The registration fee is payable upon application and is non-refundable.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Contestants are allowed to participate in only one of the classes: Professional Class or Amateur Class.
The 7th SYPC Philippines Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the competition’s Rules & Regulations without prior notice.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged or transferred.
- The Organizer assumes no responsibility for losses, delays, incorrect addresses, typographical errors, or other unintended mistakes related to mail or email correspondence.
- The Organizer will not be liable for any event cancellations or changes due to force majeure or circumstances beyond their control, nor for any related damages or losses.
- Registration fees are non-refundable once submitted.
- The Organizer reserves the right to interpret the Terms & Conditions as well as the Rules & Regulations.
